Erik Willén is Manager Precision Forestry at Stora Enso, a leading provider of renewable products in packaging, biomaterials, and wooden construction. Our Precision forestry program aims in providing frequently updated high quality forest data for forest operations and biodiversity.

​​​​​​​With more than 25 years of experience in digitalization of remote sensing, forest planning and operations Erik has a profound knowledge of how geospatial data can support forestry. Previously acting as a digitalization manager at the forestry research institute Erik was driving the joint Swedish forestry digitalization efforts getting a broad state-of-the-art in the R&D and operations domain. Earlier Erik was managing the remote sensing branch of a service provider focusing of nature resources in the Nordics and introduced satellite remote sensing to several forest organizations in Sweden. Erik holds a M.Sc. in forestry from the agricultural sciences in Umeå, Sweden and is a fellow of The Royal Swedish Academy of Agriculture and Forestry.
